Anchorage Museum The Way We Genuinely Live Anchorage, Alaska
Yuungnaqpiallerput (The Way We Genuinely Live): Masterworks of
Yup’ik Science and Survival is an exhibition that explores the
scientific principles and processes that have allowed the Yup’ik
people to survive in the sub-arctic tundra of the Bering Sea coast.
The exhibition features over 250 stunning artifacts from around the
world. These objects demonstrate the incredible intelligence,
ingenuity, and resourcefulness that have allowed this culture to not
only survive but thrive in a challenging environment. The voice of
Yupik elders guide visitors through a seasonal round of hunting and
gathering activities. The story is supported by a series of interactive
science exhibits, aduio stations, and films that help visitors
understand the complex relationship between humans
and their environment.
